Principles of social responsibility at PAAL

Preamble

PAAL Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH acknowledges its social responsibility to serve the communities it operates in. PAAL respects the cultural, social, political and legal diversity of the countries where it conducts business.
These principles of social responsibility are part of the business culture of PAAL in letter and spirit and all employees are asked to adhere to these principles. Business partners and suppliers are encouraged to establish comparable principles and to consider these in their corporate politics.

Human Rights

PAAL respects and supports compliance with internationally recognized human rights, in particular as regards those of our associates and business partners.

PAAL

1. believes in the principle of social market economy and free competition.
2. recognizes the fundamental right of all associates to form trade unions and to join these trade unions of their own free will. Associates will neither receive undue advantage nor suffer any disadvantage as a result of their membership in trade unions.
3. objects and denounces all kind of forced and child labour.
4. PAAL encourages inclusion and a diverse work environment and provides equal opportunities by engagement and employment, regardless of the colour of their skin, race, gender, age, nationality, social origin, handicap, or sexual preference. We respect the political and religious convictions of our associates as long as they are based on democratic principles and tolerate those of different persuasions.
5. Safety at work and health protection of the employees has top priority.
6. PAAL encourages the employees to train to acquire skills and knowledge and to expand and enhance their professional and specialist know-how.

Environment

PAAL as a producer of packaging machines is concerned about its environmental impact. PAAL manages its business such a way that the environment is polluted as little as possible. When developing our products the energy efficiency of our packaging machines is an important objective in order to reduce emissions by producing and products significantly. In addition our company premises is equipped with a 500 sqm solar power plant to contribute to reducing our electricity consumption and CO2 emission.
